Many people sent me their thoughts and their reminiscences about living in and leaving Northern Rhodesia/Zambia and I was sad that there were too many thousands of words to squeeze into the book. I had to edit some contributions and leave out others altogether but, with permissions in place, I intend to get up as much as possible on this site.
Buz Trevor sent me these first two pieces from his late mother. Betty Trevor writes with such good humour that I had to start with her – she is a woman I wish I could have known. It is fortuitous that her elder son, Nick (the boy who wished he’d had a rabbit instead of a baby brother) volunteered to put “Remnants of Empire” up on his AbeBooks catalogue
